Spring Break Soundtrack Review

Warner Bros
23826
1983

Yet another naughty 80's soundtrack, Spring Break is not as good as it could be, but better than music to wet tee shirts by has to be. Cheap Trick hits new heights of underachievement on the crackerjack title track. Whether or not Hot Date is actually the gorgeous, gyrating girl from the film makes these two entries intriguing. NRBQ respects the perennial "Me and the Boys (though Bonnie Raitt actually hit the waves with the song)." Big Spender and Gerard McMahon land in the sand with some meaningless fun. Not much else to recommend as the undertow washes out the rest of the beach trash, but this deleted dandy displays a healthy attitude of not caring that's missing from today's marketplace.
